Reflecting on Faith and Te Tiriti:

At our recent staff hui on Tuesday, we built upon the reflective session from a few weeks ago, where we delved into our mission statement. This time, we focused on how to reflect both faith and Te Tiriti in our work, how to empower and liberate each other, how to celebrate, honor, and respect one another, and how to enhance our time together. We tackled these important questions in small groups, fostering an environment of collaborative reflection.

After the group discussions, several key themes emerged during the feedback session. Emphasising the importance of being vulnerable, curious, and open to learning, we recognised that getting to know each other on a deeper level is essential for our collective growth and development. Leaning into these practices can significantly enhance our workplace dynamics.

Practical suggestions were made to support these initiatives, including the provision of training, resources, and support for those who may find it challenging to be vulnerable and open. Additionally, the continuation of workshops and discussions, similar to those in our staff hui, was recommended.

Peter extended an open invitation to everyone across the mission to send in their suggestions, ensuring that our efforts to reflect faith, Te Tiriti, and mutual respect are inclusive and comprehensive.
